The 2008 series includes: NEW FOR 2008:

Age Graded Placing
Results for this year's Snoqualmie Valley Cup will be calculated using the World Masters Athletics (WMA) age-grading tables. Age grading is a handicapping system intended to level the playing field based on age and gender. USATF LDR (USA Track and Field, Long Distance Running) is in full support of age grading and has worked to encourage its adoption nationwide.

Click here to age grade your own result from a recent race.

Age grading lets you compare your best efforts at different ages, revealing improvements that might not be so obvious otherwise. It allows you to race your friends or family, regardless of age. It allows you to set goals based on a new standard of accomplishment...And it might just reenergize your running.

Team Divisions  Sign Up Here!
  • Team Composition: Each team consists of 3 members, 5K or 10K, coed or not - as you choose.
  • Registering your team: Team captains contact Dean or Paige from the Duvall Days Race Committee directly to sign up their team for the Cup (please register separately as individuals for each of the three events). Sign up must take place prior to the Duvall Runs (Day of Race registration works, but we encourage you to form your team and let us know before race day if possible) See contact info below.
  • Scoring: All Cup times will be age graded and scored by gender first. The gender age graded team performances will be added using a traditional cross country scoring system, with 1 point given for first place, 2 for second etc. The team with the lowest score wins. Non-team Cup races will not displace Cup teams for scoring. Perfect score will be 4 points, 1st and 2nd in one gender and 1st in the other. In the event of a tie, the fastest 3rd team member in the Carnation 5K Run for the Pies will be the tiebreaker.
Prizes:
Male and Female Overall Winners:
  • Snoqualmie Valley Trophy Cup
  • $200 cash prize for both the male and female winners
  • FREE entry into all three runs next year
Team Winner:
  • $300 cash prize for team
"Lottery" winner"
(selected from participants that completed a 5K or 10K event at each venue):
  • $50 cash prize

Eric Garner and Sarah Riddell named
Snoqualmie Valley Cup Top Runners for 2007!

Top Runners showed up to vie for the coveted Snoqualmie Valley Cup at this year's Duvall, Fall City and Carnation Summer Run Series. Following the July 4th "Run for the Pies" in Carnation, running greats Eric Garner and Sarah Riddell were named Top Male Runner and Top Female Runner. They were each awarded a $200 cash prize and free entry into all three 2008 events along with the Snoqualmie Valley Cup trophy.

This is a repeat performance for two time All-American Eric Garner, a standout in his years at the University of Washington and the first person to run a sub-4:00 mile on Washington soil, with a memorable 3:58.93 time among a long list of other feats. Garner is in top form this year and paced other fleet footed competitors to excellent times in the Valley Series. Collegiate Runner Sarah Riddell runs for the University of Victoria and coaches the Issaquah Gliders. Her father, Dr. Stan Riddell, is her running coach and she is grateful for his support. Riddell, an English major, hopes to teach and coach at the high school level in the future.

The series winners were determined by place. Runners with the lowest combined places in all three races were declared winners. Runners had the option of competing in either a 5K or 10K, with the same points awarded no matter what distance they ran.
