WASHINGTON STATE EDUCATION TASK FORCE IDENTIFIES ARTS EDUCATION AS A PRIORITY
Washington State Governor Gregoire's Washington Learns Task Force is charged with examining the state education system and offering ways to ensure a world-class education for all students. The task force has identified creativity and arts education as a priority area for reform in their draft report. Next, public input will be solicited regarding the recommendations and potential strategies associated with this reform, including increasing funding for the arts, revising curriculum, and improved teacher training and preparation in arts education. MEETINGS
The Duvall Cultural Commission meets on the 2nd Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Rose Room (basement of Library), 15619 Main Street NE, Duvall. All members of the public are welcome to attend.
CASCADE COMMUNITY THEATRE(formerly Riverview Drama)
Cascade Community Theatre is an after-school drama program for students in third through eighth (3-8) grades. Cascade Community Theatre meets at Tolt Middle School from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year. The program is open to students in public, private and home schools.
